Carol Quinn Fine Art

Carol’s love of art has been present from early childhood and one of her earliest memories is from kindergarten while standing in front of a large easel, pots of paint and paper awaiting her touch.” It was and still is an exciting feeling to begin another painting”, she says. Her kindergarten report card states “we have tried to interest Carol in numbers but she would rather paint” which is still true today.

Throughout her school years and into college she continued to pursue art, a passion that never waned. Carol secured her first gallery representation in her early 20’s with Gallery Fair in Mendocino, California. She did many paintings of the local landscape and coast that were well received. With marriage and family responsibilities she had to take a hiatus until 2004. After that Carol immersed herself into her art and studied with such notable artists as Anita Wolfe, Kathleen Dunphy, Mike Bagdonas, Craig Nelson, and Ned Mueller. “Each of these artists has challenged me to take my art to the next level”, she says. Her passion is the California landscape especially the Sierra, Gold Country and coast which she interprets in vibrant color and dramatic light and shadows in an impressionistic style. Carol likes to paint scenes that reflect not only the rich heritage of California’s incredible and varied landscapes but to take the viewer there as well. Most of all her paintings are a gift to the viewer inviting them to an oasis of calm and awe-inspiring nature.

Carol has shown her work in many local galleries in Sacramento and Folsom as well as periodic shows in Intel. She has served as a board member of the Folsom Art Association for over 10 years.  Most recently her painting, “After the Rain” won Best In Show at the Folsom Art Association’s Member Show in the Bank of America Gallery at the Harris Center in Folsom.

Her art is represented by the Gold Country Artist’s Gallery in Placerville, California, www.goldcountryartistsgallery.net
